“There and back” – 20 years of the Zentralbahn
To celebrate the anniversary of the Zentralbahn railway, I developed a concept centered around the themes of humanity, experience, regionality, and sustainability – values that have shaped me, as someone who grew up in Kerns, from an early age. In collaboration with around 400 employees, a collective artwork was created: each person painted an individual puzzle piece, which together formed a large image – now visible on a locomotive traveling through the Zentralbahn's service area. The design process took place under my artistic direction, accompanied by workshops with the team – a creative process in which screwdrivers, pencils, and whistles were briefly exchanged for brushes and spray cans. To mark the anniversary, the design was also applied to ties, scarves, and neckerchiefs – worn by train and sales staff from spring 2025. The artwork was officially unveiled on January 17, 2025, at Lucerne railway station.
